Collecting Large Plants
Mature shrubs and specimen perennials need different handling from a tray of plug plants. We prepare large items at the nursery so they travel upright and settle quickly at home.
Before collection, we trim damaged stems, firm the rootball, and wrap pots or hessian for wet weather. Please bring a vehicle with enough height for bay trees or tall grasses, or ask us to lay specimens horizontally with crown protection only when the species allows it.
Two-person lifts are essential for glazed pots and root-bound hydrangeas. We can stage items near the car park during busy weekends; call ahead with your registration plate so we keep your plants in shade. If you are combining a collection with a house move, schedule the nursery visit before loading furniture so delicate leaves are not crushed against boxes.
