Welcome to Test Valley Nursery for Plants.

Our team has spent the last 20 years with one mission – to nurture our love for plants, to learn how to take care of them better every day, and offer them to you. With us, you can count on the fact that you will find the plants that you love and get them at the best price possible. This season we are refreshing our cottage-garden benches and labelling divisions earlier so spring visitors can reserve mature perennials before the first warm spell.

At Test Valley Nursery for Plants, we specialize in three things:

• Hardy perennial plants are beautiful, healthy, and relatively easy to take off.
• Less common varieties that you will have a hard time finding anywhere else, especially at our prices.
• A wide range of more traditional cottage garden varieties

When a nursery outgrows its beds

Relocating a plant nursery is nothing like a standard house move. Troughs of hellebores, glazed pots of mature hostas, and cold frames full of cuttings cannot be stacked like kitchen boxes. Before our own site change we cleared spent compost, broken staging, and years of mulch from the old beds — work that sits alongside sensible garden waste disposal for London plots. Labelled divisions, damp rootballs, and upright transport matter as much as the van itself.

Many customers ask how we moved decades of stock without shocking the plants. We lifted perennials during dormant weeks, wrapped crowns, and staged trays in shade while beds at the new location were dug and amended. Clearing the old polytunnel first meant crews could walk paths safely and keep hose lines out of the way — the sort of garden clear-out that has to happen before any van arrives.

For the heavy lifting we relied on man with a van in North London crews from Beuser Group. They packed our office records, moved troughs and cold frames, and held potted stock in dry storage while we found homes for every tray. Beuser Group treated the plants like freight that had to arrive upright — exactly what a nursery relocation demands, and we are grateful for their patience on a long moving week.
